Exciting milestone: SEASTAR secures CfD contract to deliver the 4 MW tidal farm in Orkney

We are delighted to announce that SEASTAR has successfully secured a 15-year contract as part of the Allocation Round 6 (AR6) of the UK Government’s Contracts for Difference (CfD) auction, ensuring a guaranteed price for the electricity it generates.

This achievement provides investors with confidence and long-term revenue certainty, marking a positive step forward in enhancing the bankability and insurability of the SEASTAR tidal farm.

Nova Innovation, the lead developer of SEASTAR, has secured three contracts in this auction, totalling 6MW of tidal energy capacity — 4MW under SEASTAR and a further 2MW under OCEANSTAR.
